FTC guidance explains that people-search sites can sell address and family information assembled from public records and other sources. A person may opt out of a particular site, yet that does not erase the government record that supplied a data point. New source data can also cause profile information to reappear.
That distinction matters when interpreting an address search. A profile should not be treated as a permanent, official address registry. For your own file, correct inaccurate consumer-report addresses through the reporting company. For public research, verify only the record facts needed for the legitimate question and avoid republishing sensitive location data unnecessarily.
